Pin, Buck Rogers, Blue Button
Object Details
- Manufacturer
- Whitehead-Hoag Co.
- Summary
- Made in the late 1930s or early 1940s, this pin was one of many premium toys of the era fans acquired through food company promotional campaigns.
- Such premium toys often required the submission of box top proof of purchase and payment for shipping and handling. Rather than going to a toy store, consumers mailed away for premiums advertised on packaging or in commercials by sponsors of the related radio and TV shows. Premiums included badges, toys, maps, or books as well as the opportunity to join a fan club run by a newspaper or radio station.
- Collector Michael O'Harro donated this pin to the Museum in 1993.
