Caption: This slide is part of a collection of 35mm slides encapsulating Robert Houston's full portfolio of images related to the Poor People's Campaign and the antipoverty protest camp on the National Mall. Known as "Resurrection City," the camp lasted for six weeks in the spring of 1968.
Description: This photographic slide depicts a man sitting next to a woman holding a young child. The man is pictured in profile, seated to the right of frame, wearing a grey suit. He rests his elbows on his knees and holds a short cigarette between his fingers. Next to him, in center frame, is the woman, wearing a light colored top and blue jeans, her grey hair pulled back from her face. The child, wearing a long sleeve red shirt and blue and white patterned overalls, sits in the woman's lap holding a baby bottle. Behind them, the legs of a person seated on a platform are visible.
