Caption: This slide is part of a collection of 35mm slides encapsulating Robert Houston's full portfolio of images related to the Poor People's Campaign and the antipoverty protest camp on the National Mall. Known as "Resurrection City," the camp lasted for six weeks in the spring of 1968.
Description: This color slide depicts the Reverend Kirkpatrick playing a guitar in the middle of a group of men. Seated, he wears a white short sleeve button down shirt, and has his blue denim jacket folded on the table in front of him. He has his eyes closed as he strums the guitar. He is surrounded by a group of men who sit and stand around him. Many of the men are clapping their hands. The slide mount has text on the reverse that reads "processed by/ rogers color lab corp. / new york."
