- This object is part of the Education and Outreach collection, some of which are in the Q?rius science education center and available to see.
- This specimen is a cast of a shoulder spike from a Nodosauridae. A Nodosauridae was a short and wide dinosaur with an armored back that lived from the Late Jurassic to Late Cretaceous (163.5 to 66 million years ago). This dinosaur had a rounded skull with protective spikes on the neck and shoulders to fend off predators. This spike is 10.75 cm thick and measures 33.5 cm x 22 cm.
