- Description
- A 45 rpm record album titled “Gospel Songs” recorded by Sister Rosetta Tharpe. The vinyl record (2014.98.2a) has a yellow label with white and red text. The album sleeve (2014.98.2b) features a photographic image of Sister Rosetta Tharpe playing a guitar and singing. The black-and-white image is printed in shades of grey and red. Large white lettering covers the bottom left corner of the image reading [Sister Rosetta Tharpe / GOSPEL SONGS]. Along the top of the sleeve, song titles are printed in black text against a plain white background: [JERICHO / I SHALL KNOW HIM / UP ABOVE MY HEAD THERE'S MUSIC IN THE AIR / 99-1 2 WON'T DO]. The back of the sleeve features a printed biography of Tharpe in French.
