Far Hills -- Ehrenclou Garden
Object Details
- General
- Nelva M. Weber was the landscape architect for this site, probably in the 1960s or 1970s. The rural setting provided expansive views of the surrounding wooded countryside. Weber used brick walls and a stockade fence to define the garden area close to the house. The brick walls enclosed a small lawn, while bulb and perennial plantings and shrubs separated the lawn from the walls. On another side of the house stone stairs led across a lawn to a swimming pool situated next to a barn, while a smaller rustic stone barn provided an historical note to the property.
- Persons associated with the garden include: Nelva M. Weber (landscape architect, circa 1960-1975) and Mimi (Mrs. John) Ehrenclou (former owner, circa 1960-1994).
