- Description
- This Republic of China Issue stamp features a portrait of Sun Yat-sen. It commemorates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of China. Sun Yat-sen was leader of the Chinese nationalist movement. He sought to modernize China. He was elected as provisional president of Republic of China for a brief period of time until the Qing Dynasty officially abdicated and Yuan Shikai took Sun Yat-sen’s place.
