Object Details
- Description
- The Postal Service issued its second annual America Series commemorative stamp on October 12, 1990, in Grand Canyon, Arizona. The stamp features an artistic rendition of the Grand Canyon as it may have appeared to the Francisco Vazquez de Coronado expedition (1540-1542), the first European explorers believed to have seen the canyon.
- The stamp was designed by Mark Hess, and the American Bank Note Company printed the stamps on the photogravure press in panes of fifty.
