This exhibition showcases 26 of the best of Whistler's lithographs, many of which challenged contemporary notions of form and finish and also offered unexpected glimpses of this artist as a contented family man (having married artist Beatrix Godwin in 1888). Subjects include the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens, local shops, scenes of daily life in Whistler's home (Beatrix at the piano and in the garden), and portraits of friends (such as the poet Count Robert de Montesquiou-Fezensac) and family.
